For the past two years, updating this website seemed like a loathsome undertaking. I hardly wanted to document the bleak professional wasteland of 2020, and even in 2021, the trickle of activity in the new music world seemed anemic and disheartening. But perhaps this year, we are finally coming out of our underground burrows like the namesake creature of today's minor holiday, the shadow of pandemic looming not quite so large. (Though, like the groundhog, I am still more frightened of large crowds than of a shadow).
So maybe this year, I will be better about keeping this website up to date. Check back for new videos and new events. Though I will probably never get around to filling in the smattering of events that took place these last few years, I will at least try to keep my events calendar up to date going forward.
Some recent news items include the premiere of "Chason Seurat" with the South Bend Symphony, the premiere tour of Sedgeflowers (after a two-year postponement), my 2017 "Fromm" piece with Ensemble HereNowHear, the premiere of "Night Music" this summer in France, and an exciting project involving children's literature and Music in the American Wild, details TBA.
